Red Wine Miracle drugs…

Do you open up your inbox each morning to 100’s of spam mail sprouting guarantees of bigger harder erections, less wrinkles, whiter teeth, flatter tummys, tighter butts…you name it, there’s a product out there to fix it!

Well todays email definitely grabbed my attention!
The benefits of red wine without the calories, alcohol or preservatives!
These pills boast the ability to ’slow down the aging process’…’lose weight’…(cop this one) ‘Extend your life’…and…wait for it…‘Change your unhealthy lifestyle’! OMG! Its a frickin miracle!!

Now who’d have thought a tiny pill could do all that? How amazing? But wait…there’s more!

They’re even offering a ‘risk free’ trial bottle. Risk free? Now I’m concerned. I thought I’d investigate them a little more…afterall, surely they couldn’t claim to do all those fantastic things without some proof. Could they???

So I clicked on the link and you can imagine my disappointment when I was faced with this…

Miracle drugs

I can only guess they were inundated by people wanting those ‘risk free’ trial bottles of the red wine miracle drug…so much so that I missed out. So now I just have to live out my days with the knowledge I’m going to continue being a fat, old aging woman *sigh*…or, maybe I’ll just get pissed on the red wine and worry about it another day!

Cheers!!

RIP Albury’s ‘Wayno’

On Wednesday night one of Albury’s (NSW - Australia) ‘icons’ (for want of a better word) passed away. Wayne Markham, better known by the locals as ‘Wayno’ was found dead lying on the ground in a street in Albury. Wayno knew the streets of Albury well as they were his home for over 20 years. But once upon a time Wayne had a ‘normal’ home life…

Wayne was born in the early 50’s and grew up in a less than modest housing commission home in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.(Jacana) I know…I grew up there too. How Wayne ended up in Albury is a mystery and although most people knew little of his past, he was certainly well known now as he shuffled down Dean Street with his worldly possessions stuffed in plastic bags or busked with his harmonica in QEII for a few bucks. In fact he was so well known to the people of Albury that he even had a Facebook following of more than 2500 fans!

Wayno will be laid to rest on Wednesday June 10. Check Border Mail for further details.
